DC Trip October 13, 2008

On my trip to Washington DC, I was thinking about what I should blog about. Then on the first day, we went in front of the Supreme Court. I looked and saw a few people standing in front of the Supreme Court with red tape that said “LIFE” covering their mouths. When I saw that, it was the best part of the trip because it shows that people are actually trying to make a difference. After a few minutes of us just standing there, we went up and stood in silence with them for about two minutes. I wish we could have stayed longer because I know that we were making a difference even though we were just standing there. We were speaking up without even saying a word. We were showing that Life is important even when it’s in the womb. I really felt the Presence of God come and stand there with us as we made a stand for Life. I know that His Presence went into that place because of us and the other people standing there.
While we were standing in silence I would look up and see how many people were going into the Supreme Court and how many of them were involved. The thing is, is when I looked up at them NONE of them were paying attention. We would get weird looks but thats about it. We would get no looks at all. But I knew that we did something, even though no one noticed, I know that at least one noticed and said something positive about what we were doing. It doesn’t even matter if no one noticed i just know that we made a difference even with those two minutes.
After we stood there in silence, we went and circled around a tree in front of the Supreme Court and said the prayer… “Jesus, I pled Your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America!” When we said the prayer some people actually turned and looked at what we were doing. Others just ignored us. But I know we did something amazing that day, and because of us there will be a change.
A lot of decisions are actuelly brought up in the Supreme Court. They are also made by the Supreme Court. So to know that we stood there is like knowing that this is going to stop. They made a rule that if you are going to stand there don’t stand on the steps. That didn’t stop us from taking a stand. I know I have said this a lot, but we made a difference that day. I just know it!
